Never forget the Holocaust


The Holocaust is something I feel strongly about. I can never learn enough.


First and foremost, I made the hand belong to a woman. I wanted to reflect that women were victims, too. I put jewelry on her to show that the Holocaust affected everyone - rich and poor alike. The tattoo was the only thing I did in color, because I wanted it to stand out. Even though there is this beauty that emerged from the ashes, she is still scarred for life. Not only physically, because of the tattoo, but emotionally, hence the blackness surrounding the entire image.

Does anyone know why the number I chose to put on her arm is important? I'll do a commission for the person who figures it out, and tells me so in a note.
